Pet Airways Now OperatingThe first flight of Pet Airways July 14, the first-ever all-pet airline, was a huge success. Owners Alysa Binder and Dan Wiesel started the airline 4 years ago, and have spent that time designing the fleet of 5 cargo planes remodeled for pets, dealing with FAA regulations, and setting up schedules and marketing. They have been overwhelmed with the response. Right now, the airline flies between New York, Washington, Chicago, Denver, and LA - so while they don't come to Hawaii yet, at least you have options for your pet once you reach the mainland. Fares are comparable to pet fees with the largest US airlines, starting at $149 one-way. Visit PetAirways online for more information.
