Kawaihae Crescent, East and West, of Hawaii Kai

Kawahae Crescent East, built in 1972, has 37 units.  Nine of these townhouses are 3-bedroom/2-bath one level units of 1,300 sq ft with a 500 sq ft garden/lanai.  The remaining 28 are 3-bedroom/2.5-bath multi-level.   There are no amenities. 

3 sales in 2007 were $430,000 to $520,000.  In 2008, 5 sales closed, ranging from $420,000 to $480,000.   In 2009, 2 homes sold, $420,000 and $439,000.  Through 2010, 3 units closed, priced from $445,000 to $485,000.

Kawaihae Crescent West was also built in 1972, and the townhouses are similar to Kawaihae Crescent East.  There are 15 3-bedroom/2-bath garden lanai units of 1,300 sq ft with a 500 sq ft walled garden, and 46 3-bedroom/2.5 bath multi level units.  There are no amenities. 

10 sales in 2007 ranged from $465,000 to $545,000.  Three sales closed in 2008, from $454,850 to $510,000.  In 2009, 5 homes closed, from $410,000 to $445,000.  During 2010, 2 homes sold, $465,000 and $480,000.

Hale Ka Lae, or Hale Ali, Now Selling


Hale Ka Lae, Hawaii Kai, Condos for Sale, Barbara Abe, RealtorHale Ka Lae (formerly Hale Alii), the new condominium project under development for more than 10 years, is now ready for the public.  Brokers Open was held a couple of weeks ago, and the 1st public open house this past Saturday, Feb. 19.  The new Korean developers seem very intent on making this upscale condo a reality.  As a result of years of community acrimony and company missteps, the investors have replaced the key executives, drawn new architectural plans, moved the footprint of the building and amenities, built a new sales center, and set up a new archaeological preservation plan.

The developer hopes to begin construction in June on the 242 unit complex, and finish in 2013.  Prices will range from $685,265 to $3.4 million.  Smaller one bedroom units have been added to the mix, but the high quality of furnishings has not changed.  Features will include private dining room, electric vehicle charging stations, golf simulator, theater, pools, and a fitness center.
