Olympians from Hawaii: Congratulations to All

Natasha Kai became one of the few athletes with Hawaii ties to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. She and the U.S. Women's Soccer Team beat Brazil 1-0 in extra time to win the gold in women's soccer for the 3rd time in 4 Olympic competitions.
Kai, a multi-sport star at Kahuku High, and at UH in soccer, scored a goal to beat Canada 2-1 and help the U.S. into the semifinals.

Natasha Kai - Soccer, Forward
Jesse Smith - Water Polo, Defender
Clayton Stanley - Volleyball, Indoor
Taylor Takata - Judo, 66 kg
and 4 Olympians from the University of Hawaii:
Robyn Ah Mow-Santos - Volleyball, Indoor
Lindsey Berg - Volleyball, Indoor
Heather Bown - Volleyball, Indoor
Kim Willoughby - Volleyball, Indoor
In addition, several foreign teams included Hawaii residents: Marshall Islands, Phillippines, Australia, and Netherlands all included athletes from Hawaii. Sports ranged from tae kwon do to swimming to softball to water polo.
